... Make Lemonade!
Mr. 4 was watching Playschool a few days ago and they were making lemonade. He asked me if we could make some. After saying yes, I began kicking myself that I hadn't paid more attention to the recipe they used on Playschool. I did watch enough to realise they used lemons, water and sugar - I just wasn't sure of the quantities. So I made a recipe:
6 Lemons
Approximately 2.5 cups of white or castor sugar
Water - I used approximately 6-8 cups and half of it was hot water to dissolve the sugar. Mix in the hot water bit by bit so it doesn't crack your glass jug you are mixing it in :)
Place in the fridge to cool down and then drink it!!
We will be drinking it tonight when we have guests over for dinner. It tastes tangy and delicious!
Thanks to my two helpers - Mr 2 and Mr.4!! Mister 4 lost interest, so Mr. 2 ended up helping me squeeze the six lemons and stir in the water and sugar.
Also, this is my favourite new tablecloth - an acquired second hand find!!!
Have a wonderful Monday!

Because that's how I roll.....
We have been having the most glorious weather recently - Spring is on its way!! Yeeeha!!
So a few weeks ago there was a birthday for my niece (I have truckloads of nieces and nephews.... 7 nephews and 4 neices I think...) so I decided to make a crayon roll. As a total beginner sewer who is willing to learn I found a tutorial and recruited Mum for some help. I'd made a practice crayon roll (the guinea pig) and made a few simple (and dumb) mistakes, which I learned from.
I used a tutorial from Skip to my Lou which you can find here but I did make a few variations (no ric rac etc)
The retro print fabric I mooched off my Grandma years ago (Thanks GG!) and the turquoise fabric was in the bargain bin at Spotlight... the crayons were also on sale at Spotlight! Dadaaa!
Because that's how I roll!
Have a great day!

Yum Yum Yum!
On the weekend, my big sister Michelle, her hubby and their five kids came to visit. While we were visiting them at my parents house we had a cuppa and cake. Shell made this very yummy chocolate cake with a secret ingredient... I bet you will never guess what it was...............
ZUCCHINI.
Yep... thats right. Anyway, It was DELICIOUS so I thought I would find a recipe and make one of my own for my crew.
The recipe I used can be found here.
This recipe was delicous and very easy to make with items I had in my pantry or fridge. The only problem I encountered was it was a bit difficult to mix... but this was because my hand held mixer only has one beater (hubby says it is like a seagull with one leg LOL)......
(This photo was taken AFTER we devoured some for dessert!)
I highly recommend trying it!
